Jan Marini Glycolic Facial Peels Results

Immediately following a glycolic peel skin may appear frosted and or sunburned, with the potential for increased redness over several hours. Skin may feel dry and tight; and mild itching may occur in the first 24 hours. Significant flaking and peeling can occur during the first few days post treatment, and may continue for an additional 2 to 5 days. Once peeling has finished, makeup can be applied over your sun protection. An SPF of at least 30 or higher is recommended.

Microneedling: Collagen induction therapy

Microneedling, commonly referred to as collagen induction therapy, creates small micro-injuries in the skin. This controlled wounding, when performed by a trained skincare professional, delivers multiple benefits including the enhancement of collagen production, a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, an improvement in skin firmness, a reduction in the appearance of scars, and diminishment of hyperpigmentation.

MIcroneedling procedure

Microneedling itself only takes about 10 to 30 minutes depending on the area's being treated.  Each patient's skin is numbed with topical anesthetic beforehand, so that minimal discomfort can be expected. A topical gel is then applied to the skin to ensure the micro-needling pen can be easily and smoothly maneuvered over treatment area. Some areas may be more sensitive than others. This is often a result of the location, depth of the needling and thickness of skin being treated. As the micro-needles perforate the skin it will cause some minimal pin-prick bleeding. The procedure does tend to leave the face red, but this subsides within 24-48 hours.

risks / side effects of microneedling

Microneedling is considered to be safe and effective, but there are still some risks. The primary risk is skin irritation after the procedure. Other side effects could include: swelling. discomfort at the site. redness. bruising. dryness.

Microneedling: Results

Most microneedling patients see results just after one treatment. However, for optimal results a series of 3 treatments are recommended about 5 to 6 weeks apart.  Dr. Conkright's professional staff will recommend an at-home skin care regimen that should replace your current skin care routine for a few days. Microneedling is considered a no downtime treatment, makeup can be applied over your sun protection, an SPF of at least 30 or higher is recommended within 2 or 3 days of your treatment.
